"Let us resolve to be masters, not the victims, of our history, controlling our own destiny without giving way to blind suspicions and emotions."
- John F. Kennedy
I came across this quote today and had to share it. We are truly facing difficult times. Times like these create our greatest leaders. We can wallow in self-pity and harp on the challenges we face in this market or we can take control and lead the way out. The choice is ours.

I agree! I think we need to turn off the radio and TV and quit listening to all the garbage. People always need housing. We may have to do business a little different but I remember when interest rates were 18% and we still sold houses. One time we took a tractor in as a down payment but we were being creative and selling houses.
Thanks Connie. I'm fairly certain we wouldn't accept the tractor as down payment today, but you are absolutely right. Shelter is a basic need therefore there will always be a need for the housing industry.
Thanks for sharing this quote...
Caron - I hope you found it inspiring.
Great quote! People have to chose whether they are victims to what has happened or masters. I for one chose not to be "victimized" by our current economic climate.
Thanks Darrell. We have the ability to choose not to participate in the recession. Keep be a master.
Karl,
I like that, There are so many victims today and those who have us act like victims. :)
Steve
Karl,
Congratulations. I just featured this on Celebrating Free Enterprise, and this is the 2nd JFK reference to be featured on the group (I had an earlier post). :)
Steve
Steve - Thanks for the feature. I guess I'll have to find some more JFK quotes so I can be featured again.
Karl - JFK, in his short time, had a terrific impact on many. More should read what he said and maybe take that to heart. We have never been a country of victims, until recently.
Mike - I do wonder what more he may have accomplished if not for that fateful day in Dallas.
