A friend sent me a link to this video. I am routinely asked about the economy. How did we get into this mess? How are we going to get out of it? Click here to see a simple explanation.

Karl,
That was pretty good. Thank you for the post.
Gotta love Fred!
If only the American voters who voted for more of the same in this last election would listen.
Good video.
Hi Karl
I sleep well at night knowing that our politicians have everything under control, Now I'm off to the dollar store to spend.
Good luck and success

We need a cultural change to effect an economic change.
Tony - You're welcome.
I do believe that everything that happens to us is partially our fault. We can't put all the blame on everyone else, especially when we are the ones electing these officials. For instance John Smith wonders why insurance premiums keep going up. Then something happens with a neighbor that really isn't a big deal and he thinks to himself, "wow maybe I can concoct an absurd lawsuit and sue him for this and try to get rich quick from it." Funny thing is a jury of our peers will grant him the money he is requesting in his shifty allegations. Why doesn't John Smith realize that every time an insurance company has to pay out for a lawsuit that they aren't the ones who are going to bite that loss, they are going to up premiums and make the customers pay for it. We don't think enough about the future and what the effects will be for tomorrow. All we know is it sounds good now and we go along with it. The main problem with America is that that the people fear the government, where in most other countries the government fears the people. We ask how much more can they tax us, control us, etc. etc. And the answer is as much as we let them.
Thank you everyone for your comments.
