Ten Things For Which I Am Most Thankful

Believe it or not, we are already at the end of November.  In a couple of days we will all be sitting around a table ready to feast on turkey and all the sides.  The meal may be my favorite part of Thanksgiving, but I thought it appropriate to take a moment to think of all that I am thankful for.  Here is a quick list in no particular order.

My Health - Having once gone two months without the use of my right arm, then another two months unable to walk, everyday that I awake with a fully functioning body is a good one.

My Wife Amanda - Life without her would be vastly different.  She is my partner and best friend and I am fortunate to have her.

My Parents - I cringe to think where I'd be, what I'd be doing, or who I would be as a person if not for them.  No gift or words would do justice in thanking them for all that they have done.

My Job - It's no secret that 2008 has been a tough year to be in the mortgage business, but I am still thankful to be here.  Many people have lost their job in this industry and many others industries.  The fact that I have been able to survive to this point is something I am proud of.  I look forward to continuing to help people improve the lives of their families for years to come.

My Family - They say you can't choose your family, but the group I've been given are great.  I know I do not spend enough time with them and this will be one of the areas I will work to improve in the coming year.

My Friends- I'm not sure if there would be much of a point to living life if one didn't have great friends to share your experiences with.  One of my best memories of 2008 will be celebrating The Phillies run to a championship with so many of my friends.

My Country - This is a very challenging time for America.  We are in a bad situation in many areas, yet their is no place in the world that I would rather call home.

The Armed Forces- What can be said to the brave men and women that sacrifice so much so that I can enjoy everything I have listed above?  You are the true heroes.

Hometown Heroes  - Everyday our world is filled with those who are there to help us when we need it the most.  Our police, firefighters, EMT's, nurses and doctors go above and beyond the call of duty daily.

Teachers -  I often give my friends who teach a hard time about how often they seem to have off.  Despite that, I am thankful to all those who taught me and helped me to become the person I am today.

Thank you to all those above.  You are what makes my everyday possible.
